Sim Racing Cockpit Ergonomics: Setting Up Seating, Wheel Angle & Pedal Distance

Even the strongest direct drive wheel base and 200 kg load-cell pedals cannot perform at their best if your seating posture causes knee pain or shoulder strain halfway through a race.

On the Fanatec ClubSport GT Cockpit, start by sliding the pedal tray so your knee retains a slight 120-to-130-degree bend when the brake pedal is fully compressed under maximum load-cell force.

Next, adjust the upright wheel deck height and tilt so the top of the steering wheel rim sits inline with your collarbones and your elbows rest at roughly a 90-to-110-degree angle when holding the 9-and-3 positions.
